December 2020 Ternate City experienced inflation of 0.7 percent

Abstract

In December 2020, Ternate City experienced inflation of 0.70 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.05. Of the 90 CPI cities, 87 cities experienced inflation and 3 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Gunungsitoli City at 1.87 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Tanjung Selor City at 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Luwuk City at 0.26 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Ambon City at 0.07 percent.
  • The inflation rate for the calendar year for December 2020 (December 2020 against December 2019) is 2.13 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2020 against December 2019) is 2.13 percent.
  • In December 2020, Ternate City experienced inflation in five expenditure groups, deflation in four expenditure groups and two stagnant expenditure groups. Groups that experienced inflation were the Food, Beverage and Tobacco group at 1.54 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuels group of 0.03 percent; Equipment, Appliances, and Household Routine Maintenance group of 0.08 percent; the Transportation group of 1.70 percent; and the Information group. Communications and Financial Services by 0.09 percent. The group that experienced deflation were the Clothing and Footwear group by 0.14 percent; the Health group by 0.02 percent; the Recreation, Sports and Culture group by 0.18 percent; and the Personal Care and Other Services group by 0.44 percent. While the Education group; and the Food and Beverage / Restaurant Providers group did not experience a change in index (stagnant).
