Abstract

In February 2020, the city of Ternate experienced inflation of 1.00 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.23. Out of 90 CPI cities, 73 cities experienced inflation and 17 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sintang City by 1.21 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Parepare City by 0.02 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City by 1.20 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Padangsidimpuan City by 0.01 percent.
The inflation rate for the calendar year February 2020 (February 2020 to December 2019) was 1.34 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2020 to February 2019) was 2.67 percent.
In February 2020, Ternate experienced inflation in six expenditure groups, deflation in two expenditure groups and three expenditure groups were stagnant. The groups that experienced inflation were the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.79 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0,44 percent; housing, water, electricity and other fuels by 0.01 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.02 percent; health group of 0.40 percent; and the personal care and other services group of 0.73 percent. The deflation group was the transportation group by 0.19 percent and the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.75 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group; education groups and food and beverage / restaurant supply groups are stagnant.
