Abstract

In April 2020, the city of Ternate experienced inflation of 0.12 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.86. Out of 90 CPI cities, 39 cities experienced inflation and 51 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Bau-bau City by 0.88 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Balikpapan City by 0.02 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang City by 0.92 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Bogor City by 0.02 percent.

The April 2020 calendar year inflation rate (April 2020 to December 2019) was 0.98 percent and the year-to-year inflation rate (April 2020 to April 2019) was 2.05 percent.

In April 2020, Ternate experienced inflation in four expenditure groups, deflation in two expenditure groups and five expenditure groups were stagnant. The groups that experienced inflation were the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.60 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.17 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 0.15 percent; and personal care and other services by 1.25 percent. The group that experienced deflation, namely; the transportation group by 4.50 percent and the information, communication and financial services group by 0.66. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear group; housing, water, electricity and other fuel groups; health group; education groups and food and beverage / restaurant supply groups are stagnant.
