Abstract

In October 2020, Ternate City experienced inflation of 0.28 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.49. Of the 90 CPI cities, 66 cities experienced inflation and 24 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kota Sibolga at 1.04 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in the cities of DKI Jakarta, Cirebon, Bekasi, and Jember at 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in the City of Manokwari at 1.81 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in the City of Surabaya at 0.02 percent.

The inflation rate for the calendar year October 2020 (October 2020 against December 2019) is 0.63 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2020 against October 2019) is 1.20 percent.

In October 2020, Ternate City experienced inflation at four expenditure groups, deflation in four expenditure groups and three groups of expenditure stagnant. Groups that experienced inflation were the Food, Beverage and Tobacco group at 1.15 percent; the Clothing and Footwear group by 0.08 percent; the Equipment, Appliances and Household Routine Maintenance group by 0.85 percent; and the Health group by 0.62 percent. The group that experienced deflation were the housing, water, electricity and household fuels group at 0.05 percent; the Transportation group of 1.09 percent; the Recreation, Sports and Culture group by 4.43 percent; and the Personal Care and Other Services group by 0.14 percent. While the Information, Communication and Financial Services group; Education group;and the Food and Beverage / Restaurant Providers group did not experience a change in index (stagnant).
