Abstract

In October 2024, there was a Year on Year (y-on-y) inflation in North Maluku Province of 2.20 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.52. The highest inflation occurred in Ternate City at 2.24 percent with a CPI of 107.37 and the lowest occurred in Central Halmahera Regency at 1.98 percent with a CPI of 108.17.

The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the index in 8 (eight) expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages, and tobacco group by 5.84 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.60 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.40 percent; health group by 0.99 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.24 percent; education group by 1.69 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 3.70 percent; and personal care and other services group by 1.57 percent. Meanwhile, 3 (three) groups experienced deflation, namely: household equipment, tools, and routine maintenance group by 0.70 percent; transportation group by 2.07 percent; and information, communication, and financial services group experienced deflation by 0.47 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate of North Maluku Province in October 2024 was 1.05 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate of North Maluku Province, October 2024 against December 2023 was 0.76 percent.
