Abstract
In July 2020, Ternate experienced deflation of 0.95 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.43. Out of 90 CPI cities, 29 cities experienced inflation and 61 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Timika City at 1.45 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Banyuwangi City and Jember at 0.01 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Manokwaris City by 1.09 percent and the lowest deflation occurred in Gunungsitoli City, Bogor, Bekasi, Luwuk and Bulukumba by 0.01 percent. • The inflation rate for the calendar year July 2020 (July 2020 to December 2019) was 0.57 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (July 2020 against July 2019) was 0.39 percent. • In July 2020, the city of Ternate experienced inflation in four expenditure groups, deflation in four expenditure groups and three expenditure groups were stagnant.The group that experienced inflation was the clothing and footwear group of 0.08 percent; household appliances, equipment and routine maintenance by 0.97 percent; health group of 0.21 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.16 percent. The deflation group was food, beverage and tobacco by 1.08 percent; housing, water, electricity and other fuels by 0.01 percent; transportation group by 5.50 percent; and information, communication and financial services by 0.05 percent. While recreation, sports and culture groups; education group; and the food and beverage / restaurant supply group did not experience a change in index (stagnant).and routine household maintenance by 0.97 percent; health group of 0.21 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.16 percent.
