Abstract
· In
September 2020, the level of expenditure inequality of the people of Maluku
Utara as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.290, down by 0.018 points from March
2020, which was 0.308. This shows that the level of expenditure inequality in
Maluku Utara Province is getting lower.
· The Gini
Ratio in Maluku Utara Province is the 2nd lowest of 34 Provinces in Indonesia.
The province with the lowest inequality is Bangka Belitung Province, while the
province with the highest inequality is Yogyakarta Special Region.
· The Gini
Ratio in urban areas in September 2020 was 0.294, down 0.003 points compared to
the Gini Ratio in March 2020 which was 0.297. Meanwhile, the Gini Ratio in
rural areas in September 2020 was 0.271, up 0.005 points compared to the March
2020 Gini Ratio of 0.266.
· The
distribution of expenditure for the lowest 40 percent of the population group
was in Maluku Utara Province in September 2020, namely 22.48 percent and
included in the low inequality category. If broken down by region, the
distribution of expenditure for the lowest 40 percent of the population in
urban areas was 22.13 percent, while in rural areas it was 23.30 percent.
