Abstract

The workforce in August 2020 was 582.5 thousand people with a working population of 552.5 thousand people.
The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) for August 2020 was 64.28 percent. The TPAK for men in August 2020 was 81.30 percent while the TPAK for men was 46.57 percent.
The Agriculture, Plantation, Forestry, Hunting and Fishery sectors absorb the largest number of workers from the working population, namely 235.7 thousand people.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) for August 2020 was 5.15 percent. The TPT in urban areas in August 2020 was recorded at 7.40 percent while the TPT in rural areas was 4.30 percent.
In August 2020, 66.13 percent of the population worked in informal activities and 33.87 percent worked in formal activities which included working status as Laborers / Employees / Employees and Business assisted by permanent workers.
As of August 2020, there were 42.56 percent of the population working partially (working hours less than 35 hours a week), covering 10.78 percent of the underemployed and 31.78 percent of part-time workers.
As many as 10.73 percent of the working age population is known to have been affected by the Pandemic
