Abstract

The total workforce in August 2023 will be 103.3 thousand people, an increase of 7.5 thousand people compared to August 2022 (95.8 thousand people).

The working population in North Halmahera in August 2023 was recorded at 96.6 thousand people. This number increased by 6.6 thousand people compared to August 2022 (90 thousand people).

The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in August 2023 increased by 2.98 percentage points to 69.86 compared to the TPAK in August 2022 (66.88 percent).

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2023 was recorded at 6.53 percent, an increase of 0.47 percentage points compared to the TPT in August 2022 (6.06 percent).

TPT according to the highest level of education completed is dominated by high school graduates or equivalent, namely 14.1 percent.

The proportion of workers who are informal workers is 71.58 percent, while 28.42 percent are formal workers.

The distribution of workers according to main employment is dominated by people who work in the service sector, namely 39.12 percent.

There are 40.92 percent of workers who work not full time (working hours less than 35 hours in the last week), consisting of 8.34 percent of the underemployed and 32.58 part-time workers.
