Abstract

The labor force in August 2019 was 549.7 thousand people. The majority of the Work Force is in South Halmahera Regency, which is 105.8 thousand people.
There are 522.4 thousand people working in North Maluku in August 2019 . Most of the working population is in South Halmahera Regency, which is 100.9 thousand people.
The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) for August 2019 is 64.49 percent. The highest TPAK was recorded in Pulau Taliabu, which was 74.43 percent.
The August 2019 Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) is 4.97 percent. The lowest TPT was recorded in West Halmahera Regency, which was 3.39 percent.
In August 2019, 61.42 percent of the population worked in informal activities.
The Agriculture, Plantation, Forestry, Hunting and Fisheries Sector absorbs the most workforce from the working population, which is 220.3 thousand people.
In August 2019, there were 31.69 percent of the population not working full hours (less than 35 hours a week), including 8.30 percent half the unemployed and 23.39 percent part-time workers.
