Abstract

North Maluku Province's Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in the second quarter of 2019 was 128.76, meaning that the economic condition of consumers improved compared to the previous quarter. The level of consumer optimism in quarter II-2019 was higher compared to the previous quarter (index value 102.37).

The improvement in economic conditions felt by consumers in the second quarter of 2019 was driven by an increase in household income with an index value of 135.37 and an increase in the volume of consumption of goods / services with an index value of 129.69. While purchasing power as seen from the inflation effect index does not affect the level of consumption with an index value of 115.60.

The North Maluku Province's ITK value in the third quarter of 2019 is estimated at 97.97, meaning that the economic condition of consumers in the coming quarter is expected to decrease.

The decline in economic conditions in the third quarter of 2019 was due to an estimated decline in household income with an index value of 96.85 and a plan to purchase durable goods with an index value of 99.93.
