Abstract

The economy of North Maluku in the second quarter of 2020 experienced a contraction of 1.35 percent when compared to the first quarter of 2019 (q-to-q). From the Business Field perspective, contractions are caused because most categories experienced negative growth. While from the expenditure side, what drives the contraction is the Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) component of negative 15.18 percent. • The economy of North Maluku in the first half of 2020 (c-to-c) still grew positively by 1.44 percent. In terms of Business Fields, growth was driven by the Processing Industry Category, Health Services and Social Activities Category, Financial Services and Insurance Categories, Information and Communication Categories, and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Categories. The business sector with the highest growth was the Manufacturing Industry Category with a growth of 34.34 percent.In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the PMTB component of 131.62 percent.
